Reiki is translated as Universal Life Force Energy used to simulate the bodies own healing abilities. Reiki can do no harm and the best part of Reiki is that when giving a Reiki Treatment you also receive a Reiki treatment - how good is that! 

Rei - is the  higher intelligence that guides the universe

Ki (or Qi) - Is energy, vital to all life and is present in and around all living things.

When you are attuned (or initiated) with Reiki you become a channel or conduit for life force energy to flow through you to yourself or to others and Reiki goes where it needs to, there is nothing the practitioner needs to do but be present, clear and holding a space of love for themselves and / or their client.

Reiki is safe and non-intrusive, is performed fully clothed and as Reiki is channeled through the reiki channel to the client or to themselves it shifts emotional and physical blockages that maybe causing ill health, imbalance or emotional upheaval.

Innately we are pure awareness, in balance and in flow with all things both within and around us... BUT modern day society had created stressors and many other things that negatively influence our natural state of being. Reiki has the ability to clear and energise on all levels of the system: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual and it also has the ability to assist with destructive thought processes and negative emotional patterns, enabling positivity to build and flow more freely.  With positivity our body heals more naturally as we return closer and closer to our nature state of being - back into well-being! 

Note: reiki is not a "cure." Reiki clears and energises the body systems so that it can assist natural healing to occur.

Reiki was founded in Japan by Mikao Usui (born 1865). It is believed, and what is passed down through mater to student is, Usui was a scholar and spiritual seeker who undertook a 10-year quest to uncover ancient healing methods.

Reiki is available to EVERYONE and can be used by anyone and is not dependent on ones intellectual capacity or spiritual development (and for myself, having Reiki in my life increased both my intellect and my intuition). Reiki is passed from teacher to student and can be learnt by anyone. Reiki is spiritual in nature and is in no way aligned with any religion, thus there is nothing you must believe to be able to learn and use reiki.

REIKI BEGINS WITH CLEARING AND OPENING THE STUDENTS OWN CHANNELS SO THAT UNIVERSAL ENERGY CAN FLOW UNHINDERED...

Reiki I: opens and clears ones own energy channels. Focus here is strongly on self-healing and teaches the fundamental principles and practices of Reiki and has an emphasis on physical healing.

Reiki II: Provides the student with methods to deliver distance healing and also focuses healing and development on the mental and emotional levels. Reiki II exponentially increased my intuitive abilities and showed me a way of trusting in my own self. Symbols are taught in Reiki II and this level is thought to be the necessary level to become a reiki practitioner.

There is also Reiki III (a) master level training and then (b) master teacher training, followed by Reiki Teacher Teaching. These levels are by application only.

Attunement is another word for an initiation process. While everything that is alive has Ki (or Qi), through receiving a Reiki attunement the student is connected to the source of all Ki in an increased way (like clearing out old and dirty pipes so the energy can flow more freely / and purely).

NOTE: Having an attunement does not give the student anything new... We are already connected, some of us may have forgotten this. Reiki attunements allow our energy to open up and align with the healing rays of universal energy and unconditional love - this is already a part of you, reiki just fine tunes your existing connection.

Reiki is not exclusive to healing of the human race, but can be use on all things - animate and inanimate. Reikis premise is that it can do no harm and the benefits are many.
